After the success of games such as Ninja Gaiden, Nioh and Dynasty Warriors, KOEI TECMO America is poised to make a name for itself in the West with the launch of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. It's the first title in nearly two decades from Team NINJA – creators of some of the company's most iconic titles including Killer Instinct, Dead Rising and Octopath Traveler.

In a day and age where video games no longer use swords, characters are often depicted as wearing spectacles and suits. They can have mutant eyeballs, glove hands, and even red glowing laser eyes! People imagined they would've had to go through grades in school if they were so different from everyone else growing up. For example: how would you rate as a hero if you're used to rescuing people with your eyes closed? ...and that's just our school photography club's current level of talent! But Team NINJA's Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is changing all that. With its mystical setting and comedic lens flair, this title will be unlike anything we've seen before.

The world of Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty, where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. Players fight off deadly creatures and enemy soldiers using swordplay based on the Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.

Players start as a nameless militia soldier fighting for survival in a dark fantasy version of the Later Han Dynasty where demons plague the Three Kingdoms. As you progress through Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, you will collect weapons and armor to aid you in your quest to save humanity from extinction. You will also encounter new enemies and fight them using swordplay based on Chinese martial arts, attempting to overcome the odds by awakening the true power from within.

Demons in the Kingdom

In a world where demons rule the land, a militia soldier’s struggle for survival becomes one of the most epic tales you’ve ever read. The story is set during the chaotic Three Kingdoms period, and it vividly tells the tale of a militia soldier’s strenuous fight for survival during a Later Han Dynasty infested with demons. It’s madness in the Three Kingdoms like never before!

Awaken the Power Within

As you encounter deadly enemies, you can boost morale by defeating them. When you do so, you'll be introduced to a power within that you can use to defeat more powerful enemies. This power is unlocked as the game progresses, so don't worry if it takes some time before you unlock it—you'll get there!

There are also five different battle styles based on the "Five Phases". These styles help you overcome obstacles that come up throughout the game.

A true master of the sword is not only a skilled fighter, but also one who can change pace mid-fight to disrupt an opponent's rhythm. The Chinese martial arts are renowned for their brutal strikes that can change the tide of battle in an instant, and their practitioners gracefully shift between offensive and defensive moves as they fight. Overwhelm opponents with a flurry of force in a series of intense and bloody battles while learning the precision and skill necessary to become a true master of the sword.
